Tony Lynch gets set for Legends outing

Tony Lynch will make a guest appearance at a special new event being held this weekend at Lydden Hill – the spiritual home of Rallycross.

Tony and his Landsail Team Geriatric outfit will head south from their base close to Wigan to contest the Lydden Legend Festival, which is being run on the back of a similar event at the Loheac circuit in France last year.

Tony was amongst those to take part in the 2023 event and will now compete in a range of special demonstration races on home soil as fans of rallycross flock to the circuit to admire cars of all ages.

That includes some iconic Group B machines from years gone by as well as Supercars from the 1990s, with famous names including Kenneth Hansen, Francois Delecour and Will Gollop set to make appearances.

“The event in France last year was a fantastic thing to be involved with, and it’s brilliant to now have a Legends festival taking place here in the UK,” Tony said.

“Whilst the modern day machinery in the sport is very impressive, there is something really special about the older cars that many fans grew up watching and to see so many coming together his going to make this a weekend to remember.

“It’s all about having fun and celebrating the sport and that is something I’m looking forward to doing across the two days.”
